150 years ago, on 12th April 1860, the first group of Canossian Sisters - accompanied by M. Lucia Cupis - reached Hong Kong after a voyage of two months which began in Pavia.
However, everything began a long time before when M. Luigia Grassi, a Canossian Sister, had a dream in which she saw Jesus Crucified suffering greatly, who said to her, «Luigia, it’s your turn, it’s your turn!» In another dream a black child pleaded with her saying, «It’s your task! It’s your task!»
A long time before, at the beginning of this “story of Love”, there had been the inspiration of Magdalene of Canossa - Foundress of the Congregation of the Canossian Daughters of Charity - that nurtured the passion of making Jesus known and loved: «Let’s go, Sisters, to even the remotest countries … Jesus is not loved because He is not known». (Thoughts, p. 29)
Today, this story of willingness and enthusiasm continues with great joy and has become a miracle of Love: the Canossian Sisters are present in 35 Countries of the world so as to bring the Love of God to every person.
The exhortation, “It’s your turn”, thus echoes in the heart of every place on Earth, even the remotest, wherever there is a man, woman, brother or sister to love. And if you listen carefully… it resounds, like a sweet melody, even in your heart.
